Albert Wolfenberger celebrates his 95th birthday on Oct. 20.
He has lived in Sycamore since 1953. Al was born in Point Pleasant, West Virginia. He came to Illinois in 1935, with only $25 in his pocket. Al farmed in this area until a heart condition forced him to quit farming in 1952.
It was then that he and his family moved to Sycamore and he began selling real estate. Most of his kids and some of his grandchildren are coming to celebrate with Al and Yvonne over the weekend.
Beverly Orr and Ralph Olesen were married Oct. 22, 1947, at the Claim Street Baptist Church in Aurora, and will celebrate their 65th anniversary this year.
Beverly was born and grew up in Aurora, and Ralph was born on a farm in Virgil, and grew up in Elburn.
They spent most of their married years in Aurora, where they were blessed with three sons, Kenneth, Thomas and James. Each of these sons gave them little ones they could enjoy. They wound up with six grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. They were very happy to be a part of watching them grow up.
