DeKalb/Sycamore co-op honors former teammate with workout
Last weekend the DeKalb/Sycamore swimming co-op took on a challenge greater than just another long-distance swim workout.
Each member of the high school team swam 10,000 yards in the lap pool, honoring former teammate Grace Waller, who was diagnosed with osteosarcoma during her sophomore year in 2008.
“Over the weekend, we challenged ourselves,” co-op coach Leah Eames said. “It was a very difficult task for the girls to take on.”
