DeKALB – The DeKalb Police Benevolent & Protective Association has announced that this year’s “Shop With a Cop” program will be held Dec. 9 at the Target store, 2555 Sycamore Road, in DeKalb.
The program offers children whose families are experiencing difficulty the opportunity to buy $100 worth of Christmas presents for themselves and their families with the help of a DeKalb police officer. The presents then will be wrapped by Target’s staff and delivered to the police department, where Santa’s helpers will pick them up and deliver them to the children’s homes the week before Christmas.
Last year’s program helped 10 children and their families. This year the program, with financial help from Target, the police association and donations, will help 12 children and their families.
