NIU Annuitants headed to Lyric Opera of Chicago

The Northern Illinois University Annuitants Association’s second trip in its Lyric Opera of Chicago series will be to see the production of “Don Pasquale” on Dec. 6.

The group will leave DeKalb at 10:30 a.m. by deluxe motorcoach. A pre-opera trip to Chicago’s Christkindl Market and a post-dinner at Lloyd’s Chicago, 1 South Wacker, across from the Lyric, is included. Curtain time is 2 p.m. A lecture will be given at 1 p.m. at the Lyric.

Cost includes round-trip transportation, dinner, admission to the Lyric Opera (seats are on the main floor), pre-opera comments by NIU Professor Emeritus Clark D. Neher, all taxes and gratuities. The fee for the trip is $195 per person.

Future trips in the series include “La Boheme” on Jan. 24 and “Rigoletto” on March 1. An optional performance is the matinee of “Oklahoma” on May 5.
