Mental health board seeks new member

DeKALB – The DeKalb County Community Health Board is searching for candidates to fill a position on the board that will open Jan. 1.

Those interested must be DeKalb County residents and cannot work for any of the 16 agencies the board financially supports. People seeking the seat would also be expected to attend the monthly board meeting, as well as serve on one of the subcommittees that also meet monthly.

The board plans, funds and monitors mental health, developmental disability and substance abuse services in DeKalb County. Created by referendum, the board administers a property tax fund that provides support to these services throughout 52 programs in 16 agencies.
