About 2 a.m. Sunday, Illinois State Police responded to Blackhawk Road and Edgebrook Drive, where about 150 people had gathered near the 1000 block of Blackhawk Road, according to court documents.
Police noticed a white Cadillac with no lights on facing the crowd. When they approached, the car’s lights were turned on. Police smelled marijuana inside the vehicle and searched the car and its occupants, according to court documents. During the search, police found a loaded .38 Special Smith & Wesson revolver in Baber’s pocket.
The serial number on the revolver had been filed or scratched off, according to court documents.
