Sycamore Park District starts new scholarship
SYCAMORE – Enjoying a day on Sycamore’s golf course can help a local student pay for college, thanks to a new partnership between the park district and Sycamore School District 427.
A new park district scholarship will award $500 to a senior at Sycamore High School looking to enter the fields of horticulture, forestry, landscape architecture, turf management, sports management or golf course management.
The scholarship will be funded through the Charitee Hole-In-One Golf Program, which gives golfers who donate to the program a chance to win $1,000 if they hit a hole-in-one. For Sycamore’s course, the designated hole is No. 7.
