I am Misty Haji-Sheikh and I am running for County Board in District 7. I have lived in DeKalb for 10 years. I am very involved in our community. I serve on several boards and committees, and I am a part-time student at NIU, where my daughter is also a student and my husband is a professor.

Who is the County Board? The County Board is made up of 24 people from 12 districts – you get to vote for two members from each district. What does the County Board do? The County Board makes the decisions on county roads and bridges, county health care, economic development, county jails and courts, the county forest district and planning and zoning.
