Kishwaukee Community Hospital will offer the following upcoming Community Wellness programs.

Conversations for the Living

While death is a difficult topic, there are conversations and actions you can take that may greatly affect your life and the decisions others may make regarding you or your estate. Planning for the future ensures your loved ones are prepared with information and tools when the time comes. This free class will be held from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Wednesdays, Oct. 24 to Nov. 14, at DeKalb County Hospice. Registration is required and closes three days before the program date. Knee Replacement Technology

Could total knee replacement surgery be in your future? Kish Hospital now offers a three-dimensional guide technology allowing the surgeon to be more precise in aligning the new joint with the entire limb. Join orthopedic surgeon Rajeev Jain to learn more about this innovative technology. Meal and valet service provided. This free class will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 23 in Kish Hospital’s Roberts Conference Center. Delicious Possibilities with Fall Cooking

Fall is bursting with delicious possibilities and you have the opportunity to learn beautiful side dishes for everyday meals and holiday entertaining. Join Jo Cessna, healthy culinary instructor, as she guides you through preparing steeped carrots with glazed apples; blueberry zucchini bread, pumpkin dumplings and more. This class is will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct. 24 at Hy-Vee in Sycamore. Cardiologist Paul Nguyen and nurse practitioner Magdalena Kloch will discuss strategies to help patients understand their device and ongoing advancement in pacemaker and defibrillator technology.
