State tee time set for Genoa-Kingston's Wakeley

Wakeley became the first female golfer in G-K history to qualify for state.

Senior Emily Wakeley will make Genoa-Kingston history when she tees off on Friday at Red Tail Run Golf Course in Decatur.

By shooting a 96 at Monday's sectional, Wakeley became the first G-K female golfer to qualify for state.

She will start the first round of the state championship Friday on the 10th tee at 9:24 a.m. Wakeley will be playing with Lanark Eastland's Alex Moutrey, Geneseo's Monica Lieving and Aurora Rosary's Victoria Phipps, all individuals who qualified.
