Devon Tijerina, Juan Lechuga and Tommy Hansen each had two goals for Genoa-Kingston in the Cogs’ 7-0 win over St. Martin de Porres in the Class 1A Genoa-Kingston Regional semifinals.

Cris Camargo had the other goal for the Cogs, who improved to 13-6-1.

G-K will play the winner of today’s match between Hiawatha and Chicagoland Jewish on Saturday at 11 a.m.

“We had a nice balanced attack tonight with several players getting into the attacking third of the field and finishing their shots,” G-K coach Randy Tate said. “Our defense played strong also. We were able to limit them to a few long-range shots and no real quality looks at goal. Overall, I thought it was a good team effort.”

DeKalb earns shutout: Zack Dixson-Smith and Sean Woodford had goals for DeKalb in a 2-0 win over Rochelle. Woodford and Skyler Weishaar had the assists for the Barbs, who improved to 10-2-5 and 7-1-1 in Northern Illinois Big 12 East play.

“We made a couple adjustments at halftime and that kind of loosened up Rochelle’s defense for us, and we were able to get that second goal early,” DeKalb coach Brent McIntosh said.

Knights get NI Big 12 win: Anthony Parillo scored the game-winning goal for Kaneland in a 2-1 win over Yorkville. Kushstrim Ismaili had the other score for the Knights (12-3-2, 6-2-1 NI Big 12 East) with an assist from Parillo.

T’Wolves eliminated: Earlville-Leland beat Indian Creek, 1-0 in double overtime of the Class 1A Indian Creek Regional semifinal.

Aaron Bolton made 20 saves for the Timberwolves (8-14).

“We came out and gave it everything we had against the top seed in our regional. We were trying to draw an offsides in the first OT and our outside defender apparently kept their guy onsides and he was able to go 1-on-1 with our keeper and they put it in,” Indian Creek coach Eric Schrader said. “Aaron Bolton played a great game in goal for us and proved that he is one of the best keepers in the area.”

Bobcats advance: Somonauk beat Plano, 4-1, in the semifinals of the Class 1A Aurora Central Catholic Regional to move into Saturday’s regional final. Jacob Alstadt had two goals for the Bobcats (18-2-2), while Tommy Skupien and Josh Schmitt added one apiece.
