SYCAMORE — A passenger thrown from a motorcycle and left by the driver early Wednesday on Old State Road was taken to the hospital.

About 12:10 a.m. Wednesday, a motorcyclist missed the curve on Old State Road approaching Route 64 and a female passenger was thrown from the motorcycle. She was left at the scene, according to a news release from the DeKalb County Sheriff's Office.

The woman, Angela Threlkeld, 54, of Kingston, was taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital and transferred to a Rockford hospital for her injuries, said Chief Deputy Gary Dumdie. The sheriff's office continues to investigate the accident, and charges are pending.

Dumdie said the sheriff's office is still trying to identify and locate the driver of the motorcycle. Alcohol likely was involved in the accident, he said, and the victim doesn't remember much.
