Gaelic Storm headed to town; tickets on sale today

Gaelic Storm will return to the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb for a concert at 7:30 p.m. Feb. 16. Tickets go on sale at 11 a.m. today.

Tickets can be purchased online at www.egyptiantheatre.org, by phone at 815-758-1225 or at the Egyptian box office at 135 N. Second St. in DeKalb. The box office is open from 2 to 6 p.m. Tuesdays and 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursdays.

It has been more than a decade since Gaelic Storm’s career lifted off with an appearance in the blockbuster film “Titanic.” Since their big-screen debut, the band’s fan base has multiplied with each new album, turning the one-time pub band into one of the premier touring acts in the Celtic/World music genre. Gaelic Storm’s compelling originals and fresh arrangements steeped in traditional Celtic melody combine with a unique blend of world rhythms to broaden the musical horizons of the genre.
