Flu shot clinic extends hours Thursday

DeKALB – The DeKalb County Health Department will hold a special walk-in clinic Thursday to increase flu shot availability.

Adults 19 years and older can walk in during the hours of 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Children 6 months to 18 years old can receive flu shots from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The health department is located at 2550 N. Annie Glidden Road in DeKalb.
The clinic is in addition to the regular Thursday hours of 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m., which will continue past Thursday’s expanded hours event. Jane Lux, public health administrator, said in a release that she recommends an annual flu vaccination for everyone 6 months and older as the single best way to protect against influenza.
