Letter: Vote Obama this election

To the Editor:

Does any one of us think that we have even the slightest idea of how many situations and decisions pass through President Obama’s life every single day? Can we imagine the dedication to and the belief in America and her citizens – 100 percent of them – it takes to go to sleep every night and get up every morning vowing to work for their betterment?

President Obama has tackled issues that affect the majority of our citizenry, also known as the middle class – universal health care, equal pay, preserving our auto industry, and tax cuts, just to name a few – and won significant victories in spite of an obstructionist Republican Congress and Senate minority. In addition, he has championed the rights of the people the Republican Party has forgotten: Women, elderly, minorities, and gays. And he has taken the customary jab at Democrats of being a peace dove off the table by severely reducing Al Qaida operations and killing Osama bin Laden. He has fought to promote democracy around the world.
