DeKalb soccer shuts out Sycamore at home, 3-0

DeKALB – It didn’t matter that the DeKalb soccer team’s 3-0 win against Sycamore was deadlocked for more than 30 minutes, DeKalb coach Brent McIntosh was always confident.

The ball was constantly in the Barbs’ offensive third, and despite the fact they couldn’t break through Sycamore’s defensive shell, McIntosh could tell that this game was different from DeKalb’s (8-2-5, 6-1-1 Northern Illinois Big 12 East) 2-1 loss to Yorkville just two days earlier.

“I was really pleased with how we came out tonight and responded to a real tough result against Yorkville,” McIntosh said. “We were looking to bounce back and try to get back to a real solid form that we were having, and we did.”
