Voter registration deadline today

DeKALB – For those who want to vote on Election Day, Nov. 6, today will be the last day to register. Voters can register at DeKalb County Clerk John Acardo’s office at the Legislative Center, 200 N. Main St.,as well as any drivers license facilities, most schools, libraries, banks and city halls. Residents must bring two forms of identification – one with a current address – to register.

For those who do not register before Tuesday but still want to vote, a grace period opens Wednesday and runs through Nov. 3. During that time, residents can register at the clerk’s office, but must cast a ballot at the time of registration.

Voters also can visit the Northern Illinois University Holmes Student Center, Sandwich Fire Department or Kirkland Village Hall to register and cast a ballot during the grace period. Mail-in voter registration forms in English and Spanish can be downloaded at votedekalb.com.
