The Taylor University Jazz Ensemble, under the direction of Dr. Albert Harrison, will present a sacred jazz concert at Shabbona United Church of Christ at 7 p.m. Friday. The public is invited.

The Jazz Ensemble has a variety of selections of contemporary, sacred and praise music written in swing, Latin, rock, and funk styles. The 20-member big band features saxophones, trombones, trumpets and rhythm section performing contemporary styles of music with featured student soloists.

The ensemble performs frequently in schools, churches and reformatories and has been a 10-time participant in the Elmhurst College Jazz Festival.
