Letter: Feels like Sycamore was sold out
To the Editor:
I am writing to express my dismay regarding Sycamore’s aldermen’s decision to allow video gambling in bars in our town. What is most disheartening is the City Council’s sentiment that it’s not their role to protect residents from themselves.
Their decision comes on the heels of valid concern expressed by Rev. Bill Landis and Pastor Harlene Harden regarding gambling addiction and poverty issues.
