DeKalb man charged with child abduction
SYCAMORE – A man charged in August with public indecency now faces an additional charge of luring a child into his home.
John M. Adler, 40, of the 100 block of Cobblestone Court in DeKalb, was charged with child abduction. If convicted, he faces up to three years in prison. He appeared in court Thursday via closed-circuit TV from the DeKalb County Jail. According to court documents, Adler intentionally lured a child into his home in July “without the consent of a parent ... for other than a lawful purpose.”
Adler was arrested in August on four counts of public indecency after he was seen committing lewd acts in his car in the parking lots of Target, Walmart and Kohl’s, all on Sycamore Road.
