Community invited to spelling bee

The DeKalb County Community Spelling Bee, presented by DeKalb/Sycamore Altrusa International and the Daily Chronicle, will be held Oct. 18 at St. Mary’s Church Activity Center, 322 Waterman St. in Sycamore.

Refreshments will be served at 6 p.m., with a practice round at 6:30 p.m. and the competitive bee at 7 p.m.

Several teams will compete to win this year’s trophy. The public is invited to come and cheer for their favorite team; admission is $3 for spectators. The two teams with the most “cheerleaders” will win a pizza party.
