The Genoa-Kingston boys golf team took second Tuesday at the Class 2A Stillman Valley Regional, firing a 347 and qualifying for the Belvidere North Sectional on Monday. Freeport won the regional with a score of 332.

Mason Lucca led the Cogs with an 83, good for fourth place individually. Eric Tucker shot an 87 for G-K, while Tommy Lucca had an 88 and Nick Adamcyk finished with an 89.

Barbs’ Cook advances: DeKalb sophomore Jacob Cook earned a sectional berth after shooting an 84 at the Class 3A Larkin Regional. The Barbs had a team score of 341, good for seventh place.
