Letter: Sycamore council 
blew it on gambling

To the Editor:

Well, it seems as though our City Council missed the point, again. The video gambling has been approved and was done so with the thinking that the council does “not need to protect us from ourselves.” I agree, it is not their job to protect us from our own vices. However, that WAS NOT the point.

So, to help them out, let me spell it out for them – the point was that the video gambling devices can attract an element that the residents of Sycamore do not want. You aren’t protecting us from ourselves – you’re protecting the image of the city.

You blew it. Thanks.
