2 car vs. bicycle accidents in less than 24 hours
DeKALB – DeKalb County Sheriff’s deputies responded to two accidents involving cars and bicycles in a span of less than 24 hours this week. About 3:40 p.m. Tuesday, a driver was headed south on Gletty Road south of Route 34 in Sandwich when she struck a bicyclist who was southbound on Gletty, according to a news release from the sheriff’s office.
The cyclist was thrown from the bike and taken to Valley West Community Hospital for minor injuries.
The driver, Michelle Jo Nash, 46, of the 400 block of East 1251st Road in Earlville, was charged with improper overtaking, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
