Local cross country team competes in first meet

Northern Illinois Athletics Youth Track and Field / Cross Country competed in its first cross country meet last weekend in Belvidere.

Evan Smith (Shabbona) took second place in the Youth Boys 4,000-meter run with a time of 16 minutes, 2 seconds. Alex Taylor (Sycamore) was fifth in the Bantam Boys 3,000 run, finishing in 13:01. Noah Wester (Sycamore) finished eighth in the Pee Wee Boys 1,500 run with a time of 6:31. Emily Schilling (Earlville) was first in the women’s open 3,000 meter, finishing in 12:47.
