U of I engineering talk to be held at KC

The University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign will give a presentation on its Pathway to Engineering Program for area high school students and their parents at 6:30 p.m. today in the Dining Room (A-273) of the Kishwaukee College Conference Center. The presentation is free and open to the public.

Joe Waranyuwat, academic adviser for the College of Engineering at UIUC, will give an informational presentation on Pathway to Engineering, which includes the University’s Guaranteed Admission Transfer Program. UIUC has entered into GAT Agreements with Kishwaukee College and only four other community colleges in the state.

GAT Agreements are designed to assist talented students interested in pursuing a career in any of the engineering fields at U of I. As a participant, Kish College’s engineering program coursework is aligned with that of the foundation coursework required for engineering students at the UIUC campus, following a prescribed sequence of mathematics, science and engineering courses. KC engineering students who successfully complete the coursework per the Kishwaukee College-UIUC agreement and meet GPA requirements are guaranteed admission to the UIUC College of Engineering. Students who enroll in the GAT Program at Kish College will receive dual academic advisement from both Kishwaukee and UIUC.
