SHABBONA – Indian Creek School District 425 has received a $10,000 grant to bolster education in science, technology, engineering and math fields.
America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education, sponsored by the Monsanto Fund, awarded the district the grant to purchase technology for classrooms. The America’s Farmers program gives farmers the opportunity to nominate a public school district in a rural community to compete for a $10,000 or $25,000 merit-based grant to enhance education in the areas of math and science.
“It is my hope, as a result of this grant, that we will be able to share some model lessons with other districts and inspire them to see that rural schools can create and have top notch curricular
programs that incorporate 21st century skills,” said Pam Rockwood,
