Sycamore firefighters to wear pink

SYCAMORE – The Sycamore Fire Department is ready to bring in fall fashion with new uniforms for a good cause. Throughout October, Sycamore firefighters will wear their standard navy blue shirts with a pink twist to raise awareness for breast cancer during the month dedicated to combating the disease.

The shirts will have pink lettering on the front and back, with the “i” in “fire” replaced by a pink ribbon.

Firefighter Adam Honiotes said it is the first year the department will feature the specialty uniforms as an extension of the work firefighters do to raise awareness about the disease throughout the year.
