35th anniversary

Warren and Cathy Lubbers are celebrating their 35th wedding anniversary.

Cathy Jo Johnson, daughter of the late Donna and Bud Johnson, and Warren R. Lubbers, son of the late Warren L. and Dorothy Lubbers were married on Oct. 1, 1977, at the First United Methodist Church in DeKalb.

Cathy is now retired from Northern Illinois University after 36 years of service. She is finding ways to keep herself busy. Warren, retired from the DeKalb Fire Department, is staying young by running around NIU as part of the Materials Management crew.

The couple has two daughters. Karen of DeKalb is a middle school teacher in Sterling and Cheryl of DeKalb is the assistant business manager in the College of Engineering at NIU. Warren’s eldest daughter, Cathy’s stepdaughter, Yvette of DeKalb works in the Parking Department as a cashier at NIU.

Overby-Huber

Danielle Overby and Adam Huber, both of Shabbona, are engaged to married on Nov. 17, 2012, at Waterman United Methodist Church.

Daughter of Wayne and Amy Overby of Waterman, the bride-to-be is a 2011 graduate of Western Illinois University with a bachelor’s degree in law enforcement/justice administration. She is employed as an officer with the DeKalb County Sherrif’s Office in Sycamore.

Son of Peter and Laura Huber of Shabbona, the groom-to-be studied business at Kishwaukee College, and is employed at Vermeer Midwest in Aurora.
