Man charged in incident with a screwdriver

DeKALB – A DeKalb man was charged with assault and aggravated assault Thursday after allegedly threatening someone with a screwdriver.

When police responded to the call shortly before 11 p.m. Thursday, DeKalb police Lt. Jason Leverton said police were initially told that someone was being threatened with a knife during an altercation in the 400 block of West Taylor Street.

When police arrived, Leverton said it was apparent that the victim had been physically assaulted before a man pulled out a screwdriver and threatened to stab the victim.
