‘Etched in Stone’ Elmwood Cemetery Walk planned

The Sycamore History Museum’s annual Heritage Cemetery Walk is Sunday.

The tour will be a little different this year because the new mausoleum is one of the featured stops in Elmwood Cemetery. As in years’ past many interesting stories will be shared by presenters highlighting ordinary and extraordinary people buried at Elmwood Cemetery.

“This is always one of our most popular programs,” Michelle Donahoe, executive director of the Sycamore History Museum, said in a news release. “The committee starts researching possible people six months in advance. There is a lot of behind-the-scenes work put into these presentations. We are excited to show the mausoleum to people this year because many people have not had the opportunity to be inside.”
