Drug take-back event set for Saturday

DeKALB – DeKalb residents will have an opportunity Saturday to clear out their medicine cabinets safely and anonymously.

As part of National Prescription Drug Take Back Day, a collection site will be set up outside the DeKalb Police Department for unwanted, unused or expired prescription drugs to be turned in.

DeKalb police Lt. Wes Hoadley said the department has participated in the prescription drug take-back event for the past five years and partners with the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, which handles the disposal of the prescription medication.
