Blackwood Brothers to perform at SUMC

The gospel quartet, The Blackwood Brothers, will return to Sycamore United Methodist for a concert at 7 p.m. Thursday.

The Blackwood Brothers was originally formed by four brothers in 1934. The group has won eight Grammies through the years.

The energetic quartet packed the house when they visited Sycamore in 2009. Two of the members of the group have changed since then, including the addition of James Blackwood’s youngest son, Billy. Another one of his sons, Jimmy, has been with the group since 1970, and is the lead singer. Wayne Little and Butch Owens complete the quartet.
