Sewer improvements under way in DeKalb

DeKALB – DeKalb residents will occasionally be asked to refrain from using water as contractors clean and line the city’s sewer system.

Workers from Pipevision Products in LaSalle have started to line certain sections of DeKalb sewer piping, said Steve Olsen, operations manager for the DeKalb Sanitary District. Olsen said the workers will place door placards on the homes that will be affected that particular day.

Residents are asked to limit their time in the bathroom, and hold off on doing any laundry for 24 hours. The project will cost the sanitary district about $130,000. Work should be done by early November.
