Popular bird exhibit reopens at Field Museum

CHICAGO – A popular attraction at Chicago's Field Museum has reopened.

The Bird Hall reopened Tuesday after extensive upgrades that had museum staff cleaning the cases and the birds. It's now named the Ronald and Christina Gidwitz Hall of Birds. It contains more than 1,000 mounted specimens that date to the 1920s and 1930s. Those specimens are paired with displays featuring the latest technology and research.

Birds in the exhibition come from about 70 different countries, 33 U.S. states and seven Canadian provinces.
