Firearm, ammunition collection planned

MAPLE PARK – Anyone looking for a safe way to dispose of firearms and ammunition has the opportunity to do so next week in Maple Park.

The Maple Park Police Department is holding a firearm and ammunition turn-in program from Monday through Oct. 8. The program aims to keep firearms off the streets and allow people to dispose of them safely, according to a news release.

Those who drop off firearms or ammunition will be given a receipt for the property. Items can be dropped off at the police department located at 302 Willow St., Maple Park.
