Woman crashes car into Sycamore building

SYCAMORE – An woman was taken to the hospital Tuesday after her car struck a medical office in Sycamore.

About 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, the 85-year-old woman, driving a 2003 Pontiac Vibe, drove into the side of the Kishwaukee Medical Associates building, in the 900 block of West State Street, and struck a window area, Sycamore police Sgt. Steve Cook said.

The car took out two windows and a pillar between them, Cook said. He did not have a damage estimate.

The woman was taken to Kishwaukee Community Hospital, but her injuries didn’t appear serious, Cook said. Police had not had a chance to speak with the woman as of Tuesday, but witnesses said the woman mentioned she was feeling ill before she struck the building.

No one inside the building was injured, and the woman did not have any passengers in her car.
