Oktoberfest celebrated at Huskie Stadium

On Saturday, Fatty’s Pub and Grille and Whitmans Catering will host “Oktoberfest at Huskie Stadium” from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. in the Northern Illinois University Huskie Stadium West Parking Lot under the big top tent.

Come out before, during and after the NIU vs. Central Michigan game for food, draft beer and live music. There is no cover charge to come in the tent and it is open to the public.

Free entertainment will be provided throughout the day. Die Musikmeisters, an authentic German band from the Chicagoland area will perform at 11 a.m. The football game is at 2:30 p.m. and while the tent will remain open during the game, fans are encouraged to go to the game. After the game a live performance from Back Country Roads will headline the event at 6 p.m.

Food from Whitmans Catering will be available all day and will include brats, sauerkraut and more. Draft beer will be served all day, including many special Oktoberfest and autumn beers.

Parking lots at the stadium will stay open until 10 p.m. Families are welcome, however, attendees must be 21 to enter the tent unless accompanied by parent or legal guardian.
