Old Second partners with ‘Project Santa’ for troops

Old Second’s employees are partnering with Project Santa to collect “wish list” items that will be shipped to U.S. troops stationed in Iraq and Afghanistan. All Old Second branches will be accepting donations of items on the Project Santa Wish List (as well as monetary donations to cover shipping costs) from now until Nov. 2.

Project Santa was started in 2005 by Kathy Cattani when her son was deployed to Iraq. Since Christmas of 2005, Kathy along with other volunteers, have made, filled and sent 30,000 holiday stockings stuffed with wish list items to our troops. Many of the local senior living facilities and other groups sew all year to supply the stockings that are used.

The Old Second Employee Activities Council is coordinating this partnership between Old Second employees, the bank’s customers, and the communities in Old Second’s market. Any business or organization that would like to collect items can be provided a poster or a wish list. Posters and wish lists can be acquired by contacting Old Second at: supportcenter@oldsecond.com or 877-866-0202.
