Sycamore man found guilty in child rape case

SYCAMORE – A Sycamore man was found guilty Thursday on charges that he raped a child for years.

After two hours of deliberation, a jury found Timothy L. Munk, 52, of the 2300 block of Hickory Lane in Sycamore, guilty of 12 counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, said Prosecutor Phil Montgomery with the DeKalb County State’s Attorney’s Office.

Montgomery said Munk repeatedly had sex with a girl between the ages of 8 and 11. Munk, who had lived with the girl’s mother, sexually assaulted the child over a period of three years.
