Chicago area's other teachers strike over
LAKE FOREST – The Chicago area's other teachers strike has also come to an end.
About 150 teachers in the suburban school district of Lake Forest are back in class Wednesday.
The walkout was triggered when contract negotiations stalled over pay raises.
In a brief online statement, the Lake Forest High School Board of Education and the Lake Forest Education Association announced they had agreed on a four-year contract. No details were given.
It still must be voted on by the union's members.
The teachers went on strike Sept. 12, two days after 25,000 teachers went on strike in Chicago.
The larger Chicago teachers strike has also ended and classes resume Wednesday.
