Blackwood Brothers to perform Oct. 4 at SUMC
The Blackwood Brother’s Quartet, world-famous gospel singers, are coming to Sycamore United Methodist at 7 p.m. Oct. 4. The concert is free, and open to the public. An offering will be taken for the group.
The Blackwood Brothers have been singing together since 1934. The group was originally comprised of James, Doyle, Roy and R.W. Blackwood.
Many greats in gospel music have come through the Blackwood organization. For nearly seven decades, James Blackwood formed the enduring nucleus of the group. His death in 2002 ended an era in gospel music.
