We are so blessed to live in the Midwest, where we can enjoy the spectacular change of seasons. Although we had an unusually hot summer, the days are beginning to grow shorter. Soon the leaves will begin to show their bright colors and fall will arrive. This is a wonderful time to visit Genoa.
Genoa is nestled in the northern part of DeKalb County and is rich with history, discovery and shopping. Begin this crisp new season by visiting our beautiful city. Genoa’s unique downtown and Route 23 corridor is filled with a variety of businesses. Take a day visiting our local farmers market, sample delicious wines and dine at our fabulous restaurants. Stroll through our shops for unique gifts, home decorations and antiques. Or why not enjoy the simple pleasures while exploring the great outdoors and learning more about our town by visiting the historic district? Genoa is sure to have something for everyone. Stop by and see what is waiting for you.
The chamber recently held its ninth annual Great Genoa Duck Race, a family fun event. It was a quacking good time for everyone. The event was expanded this year to include more than 35 vendors, food booths, games and music. More than 300 people came out to cheer the ducks on to victory, as they floated down the scenic Kishwaukee River. If you missed this great event, mark your calendars for next Sept. 7. You won’t want to miss it!
