McMillion joins Adventure Works

Patrick McMillion joins Adventure Works as a clinical adventure group coordinator.

McMillion is a licensed professional counselor (pending), nationally certified counselor and a nationally registered emergency medical technician-basic. He received his bachelor of science degree in psychology from Illinois State University and his master of science in education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northern Illinois University.

McMillion has been working in the mental health field since 2008. He started as a rehabilitation counselor/case manager for the chronic mentally ill population and then moved into working with youth as an outreach case manager and finally as a counselor/therapist.

He also has extensive outdoor experience with climbing, hiking, backpacking, paddling and wilderness survival skills. He started volunteering for Adventure Works in January and was hired on as a full-time employee in July.

McMillion is the primary group facilitator and coordinator of the Adventure Works groups; in charge of developing and implementing group curriculums.
