Valley West breaks ground to expand

SANDWICH – Construction of an $11.2 million addition at Valley West Community Hospital is expected to start next week, and hospital leaders celebrated Thursday with a groundbreaking ceremony.

Brad Copple, president of Valley West and Kishwaukee Community Hospitals, said the project is going to be a collaboration with the community.

The KishHealth Foundation said it hopes to raise $1.36 million toward the project through donor contributions. The Valley West Community Hospital Auxiliary made the first contribution Thursday with a $50,000 donation toward the project.
