Switchback to play DeKalb

The Irish-American band Switchback will perform at 7:30 p.m. Saturday at the Egyptian Theatre in DeKalb. Concert-goers are invited to wear their green and celebrate the halfway point to St. Patrick’s Day.

Described as American roots blended with a Celtic soul, Switchback began more than 20 years ago through the partnership of Brian FitzGerald and Martin McCormack. The band has opened for Gaelic Storm and The Moody Blues.

Winner of the 2008 Irish Music Association’s Top Duo Award, Switchback regularly tours the Midwest, Canada, Ireland and Italy. Performances can be seen on Chicago’s PBS station WTTW from time to time.
