IVT schedules auditions for holiday show

Published: Thursday, Sept. 13, 2012 5:30 a.m. CST

Indian Valley Theatre will hold open auditions for their holiday production of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” from 6 to 8 p.m. Sept 28 and 7 to 9 p.m. Oct. 1 at the Sandwich Opera House.

“The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” focuses on the unruly, ill-behaved children of the Herdman family who decide to take over the town’s church and Christmas pageant. The Herdman children, who have never heard the Christmas story before, are cast in the pageant. The pageant is the most unusual one that the town has seen, and quite possibly the best one ever.

Men, women and children are needed to fill four adult male and six adult female roles, as well as eight boys and nine girls, ages 6 and older. Auditioners should be prepared to read cold from the script.

Directed by Rich Bryan of Sandwich, performances of “The Best Christmas Pageant Ever” will be Dec. 7 through 9 at the Sandwich Opera House.

For more information, call producer Debbie Merkel at 815-793-2310 or Rich Bryan at 815-786-6281.
