Prep Football Insider: ‘A huge burst in the locker room’
KIRLKLAND – There has been a lot more excitement for Hiawatha over the past week or so.
It started with a 14-13 win against Chicago Hope Academy in Week 2, the Hawks’ first victory since 2010. Friday night, Hiawatha got its second consecutive win, a 34-20 victory over Chicago CICS/Longwood.
“The attitude, you can see a major shift, and it started last week,” Donnelly said. “You saw it when they came into practice Saturday morning (Sept. 1). And you saw it all week, in school their attitude, in practice their attitude, it’s just full-blown different. And the way they came out and started the game. Getting that W on the board last week, and I think in the fashion that we did it, just spurred these guys to another level.”
