SYCAMORE — Bond was set at $500,000 Monday for a DeKalb man charged Saturday with firing shots at people during an argument.

Demetrius D. Wade, 25, of the 800 block of Edgebrook Drive, is charged with armed violence, aggravated discharge of a firearm, possession of a weapon by a felon, criminal damage to property, possession of ammunition without a firearm owner’s identification card and unlawful possession of marijuana.

Wade appeared in court Monday.

DeKalb police heard shots fired about 4:20 a.m. Saturday in the area of Edgebrook Drive and Normal Road. Police located no victims but found three cars with bullet holes.

Wade, who police said is a Kishwaukee College student, was arguing with people in a parking lot below his apartment building and began shooting at them from his balcony.

During a search of Wade’s apartment, police found marijuana and ammunition.

Wade, who will be represented by a private attorney, will next appear in court Sept. 17.
