The DeKalb-Sycamore co-op swim team put forward another dominating effort in its second dual meet of the season, beating St. Francis, 116-50, on Wednesday.
DeKalb-Sycamore swept all 11 events and three swimmers won two events. Alexa Miller won the 200-yard freestyle and 100 butterfly, Kylie Olson was first in the 200 individual medley and 100 free, and Jensen Keck was victorious in the 50 free and 100 breaststroke.
Bailey Flemming (100 back) and Kayleigh Kozlowski (500 free) were the other individual winners.
“It was another incredibly strong meet for us as a team,” co-op coach Leah Eames said. “We were 11 for 11 on event wins for the second meet in a row.”
Senior Natalie Carlson was part of two relay victories while Jessie Howland also swam in the team’s 200 medley relay win.
The meet victory comes after, what Eames called, the hardest team practice of the year Tuesday.
“It was a great performance for our team, right where we want to be at starting off the season,” Eames said. “We’ve been really hitting it hard trying to build our endurance.”
Royals coast to win: Bernie Conley scored another three goals, and Hinckley-Big Rock beat Aurora Central Catholic, 4-1, at home. Connor Nelson had the other goal for the Royals (7-2), who play Indian Creek at home Friday.
Cogs take second in triangular: Genoa-Kingston (177) finished second in a triangular with Mendota (169) and Rockford Christian (200).
Jake Langford, Mason Lucca and Tommy Lucca shot 44s while Nick Adamcyk recorded a 45 for G-K, which is 8-3 on the season.
